An excerpt from a blogpost I shared over a year and a half ago…
By smooth words he will turn to godlessness those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will display strength and take action. 33 Those who have insight among the people will give understanding to the many; yet they will fall by sword and by flame, by captivity and by plunder for many days. 34 Now when they fall they will be granted a little help, and many will join with them in hypocrisy. 35 Some of those who have insight will fall, in order to refine, purge and make them pure until the end time; because it is still to come at the appointed time (Dan 11:32-35 NASB).
“By smooth words he will turn to godlessness those who act wickedly toward the covenant” refers to his old method of deceit and some Jews being led into apostasy, thereby, helping him because he had flattered them. Satan has two weapons against faithfulness to Truth—one is violence and the other is flattery. And amazing today, as the unveiling of the Antichrist nears, what we see is a sly, uber-deceptive combination of both weapons—violence and flattery, which is demonically entangling even to the most grounded in the solid Foundation of Christ.
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect (Matt 24:24 KJV).
